Full Flat Ground Smile Bladed Kamisori Razor in 80Crv2 High Carbon Steel

This razor has a gently curved full flat ground 2 3/16" (55mm) shaving edge with a blade of 3/16" (4.15mm) thickness. This makes it very light and therefore easy to manipulate and handle when shaving. The corners have been rounded off for a safer shave - this is a great feature for those new to straight razor shaving! 

This style of shaving razor inspired by the Japanese Kamisori, but I wanted it to be finished with a Western influence in which the bevels are symmetrical.

This razor's blade is heat treated to 61-63 Hrc. The blade was 

The handle is hand wrapped using brown dyed natural hemp chord in a double knot pattern, sealed with ca glue, and finished with beeswax to make it water resistant. This provides both a comfortable and tacky grip.

The blade has been sharpened by hand on a stone, then stropped with both a buffing compound and leather strop to achieve a shave ready edge.
